Tarka the Otter released in cinemas
Based on Henry Williamson’s novel of the same name, the screenplay for Tarka the Otter was co-written by Gerald Durrell, founder of Jersey Zoo. The otter that played the film’s title role was actually called Spade. Otters also featured prominently in the ITV series The Durrells, which told the story of Gerald Durrell’s childhood growing up in Corfu.
