Rare Bronze Age pottery found in Trinity

The BBC reported on the discovery of a rare pottery vessel thought to contain tools and weapons. The Bronze Age relic, which was thought to be around 3000 years old, had been found in Trinity by metal detector owner Ken Rive. According to the BBC story, it was “a once in a lifetime find and the first thing he had found in more than 20 years”.

The discovery, which came to be known as the Trinity Hoard, included 25 bronze axe heads. Two of the axe heads were found outside of the 30cm container, which had been damaged at some point, possibly by a plough.
